Sheet Metal Helper - Madison Heights, VA
Shibuya Hoppmann has an immediate opening for an entry-level Sheet Metal Helper to join the Sheet Metal Shop in our Madison Heights, VA Production Facility.
Position Overview:
The Sheet Metal Helper works under the direction of experienced sheet metal operators and shop supervisors to assist in the fabrication and preparation of sheet metal components for use in the manufacturing of automated assembly machinery. This role focuses on cleaning and finishing sheet metal components, with opportunities for training to operate fabrication machinery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Follow all shop safety policies and procedures
- Assist in fabrication of sheet metal parts
- Deburr and finish metal components
- Measure and verify dimensions to ensure accuracy and quality control
- Assist with inventory organization and material handling
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Other duties as assigned
This is a Monday to Friday, day shift position. Occasional overtime may be available, depending on production needs.
Starting rate: $20 – $22 /hour, depending on experience
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
