02/02/11 Shibuya Hoppmann's Pouch Collate System

System Description
The Pouch Feed/Collate and Transfer System conveys, collates and transfers 150mm long by 120mm wide by 30mm tall Pouches at an output rate of 180 parts per minute/lane.

The following equipment comprises this system (see Figure):

Pouch Overview
  • Double Servo #1 & Double Servo #2
  • Track Racer #1 & Track Racer #2
  • Cluster Conveyor Assembly
  • Discharge Rod Conveyor
  • Main Electrical Control w/touch screen

Sequence of Operation

Overview:
Product enters the Pouch Feed/Collate & Transfer System via customer infeed conveyors at two separate entry stations. Pouches travel horizontally, long axis in the direction of travel, into one of the two double servo collating stations. Each collation station is designed to work independently or in conjunction with the other, and transfers product groups to the downstream discharge rod conveyor and customer downstream operations.

03/01/10 Shibuya Hoppmann Introduces the Prefeeder/Feeder Combo System

Prefeeder /Feeder Combination UnitLive Bottom PrefeederCap Centrifugal Feeder

Shibuya Hoppmann Corporation introduces the Prefeeder/Feeder combination system, a merger of two efficient, proven technologies into a single footprint that simplifies the process for loading, singulating and orienting parts.

The prefeeding unit, atop a centrifugal feeder, is specially designed to handle a wide variety of parts, including those of a fragile nature. Two independent variable speed drives help ensure gentle product metering. The product drops down from the upper belt to the lower belt, where it is pulled away at a faster rate, assisting in part separation and de-tangling.

The centrifugal feeder combines a rigid center disc and rim drive system, which provides a tight-gap operating tolerance between the bowl and disc. This configuration is ideally suited to efficiently feed and orient parts of many shapes and sizes.

11/02/09 Shibuya Kogyo Develops the World's First E-Beam Aseptic Filling System

Ebeam Aseptic Filling SystemShibuya Kogyo has developed the world's first E-Beam Aseptic Filling System.Shibuya has delivered over 110 conventional aseptic filling lines worldwide and is the supplier of over 80% of the aseptic filling lines in Japan.Shibuya's knowledge and expertise in aseptic filling has led to the development of the E-Beam Aseptic Filling System. The E-Beam system eliminates the concern of chemical residual on PET bottles, as found using alternative H2O2 or PAA sterilization methods; and also provides a safe, economical, smaller footprint and environmental friendly alternative for sterilization.

The Shibuya Kogyo E-Beam Sterilization system is designed to eliminate microorganisms on all surfaces of PET bottles through irradiation with a beam of high-energy electrons. The injection of accelerated electrons onto the PET bottles has provided highly reliable and effective sterilization results. Using an electron beam as a sterilization tool, the E-Beam Aseptic Filling system enables Shibuya to help move towards environmental sustainability by using less space, eliminating use of water and making efficient use of required power. This E-Beam Sterilization system along with the proven quality of the Shibuya Aseptic Filling and Capping systems, makes the Shibuya Kogyo E-Beam Aseptic Filling System an integrated one-stop solution to your filling needs.

07/02/08 Shibuya Hoppmann's Safety New Covers Standard on Centrifugal Feeders

Shibuya Hoppmann's New Centrifugal Feeder Safety Covers

    Safety Cover

The movable hinged machine guards must be closed in order to operate the feeder. Additionally, opening the cover during operation will stop the equipment - and restart is not possible while the covers remain open. The hinges are also designed with gas springs - holding the covers in an "up" position and reducing the perceived weight of the individual covers. These springs, combined with the tamper-resistant design of the hinges and positive opening NC contacts, provide a much higher level of safety than proximity switches or other spring-driven limit switches. These interlock switches also allow for wide guard opening - up to 180°!

With this new standard, Shibuya Hoppmann reinforces our commitment to the highest customer safety!
