Shibuya Hoppmann's New Centrifugal Feeder Safety Covers
The movable hinged machine guards must be closed in order to operate the feeder. Additionally, opening the cover during operation will stop the equipment – and restart is not possible while the covers remain open. The hinges are also designed with gas springs – holding the covers in an “up” position and reducing the perceived weight of the individual covers. These springs, combined with the tamper-resistant design of the hinges and positive opening NC contacts, provide a much higher level of safety than proximity switches or other spring-driven limit switches. These interlock switches also allow for wide guard opening – up to 180˚!
