Capping and Filling Customized Systems

We have incorporated the latest technology and innovations into the construction of the fillers and cappers we build. Decades of experience combined with an endless quest for perfection produce machines of unrivalled quality. This approach allows machines to be designed to optimize a customer's specific requirements for speed, product characteristics and container shapes. The range of non-carbonated beverage fillers include weight fillers that fill to a preset weight, gravity fillers that fill to a preset level, and flowmeter fillers that control the fill by flow rate.

Weight Filler Capper

The Weight Filler Model fills bottles/containers to a preset fill weight using a load cell mounted under the bottle rest to directly control the filling valve operation. The weight filler is able to accommodate a wide variety of container and bottle sizes.

Features include:

  • A simplified liquid path with no irregular surface allows efficient washing and sanitation.
  • The weight control computer automatically corrects for the effects of the centrifugal forces of the filler rotation. Additionally the automatic zero and tare weighting functions combine for accurate fill weighing regardless of machine speed.
  • Fill weight adjustment is accomplished quickly and precisely using a keyboard.

Options include:

  • S/CIP System
  • FBH system
  • Automatic filler bowl elevating device
  • CIP adapter automatic connecting system
  • Load Cell check system
  • Machine exterior automatic washing unit
  • Data accounting unit

The Flowmeter Filler Model is connected directly to the filling valves control filling to a constant volume. The VFF model can handle various sized bottles, and the VFF-C handles cans, exclusively.

Control System

Weight signals from the flowmeters are received by the weight controller and directly control the opening and closing of the filling valves. If the optional data processor unit is connected the filling weight of each valve can be printed out as a histogram for simple quality control.

Features include:

  • A simplified liquid path with no irregular surface allows efficient washing and sanitation.
  • An electromagnetic flowmeter especially developed for filling applications and filling volume correction system ensure accurate filling.
  • Spreader-type filling minimizes foaming and over flow achieving clean operating conditions.
  • Filling volume can be adjusted easily using switches on the operation panel, reducing size-change time.

Options include:

  • S/CIP System
  • CIP adapter automatic connecting system
  • Automatic filler bowl elevating device
  • FBH system
  • Data accounting unit

Gravity Filler

Used for carbonated or non-carbonated beverages - the Gravity Filler will fill containers to a preset level. The CO2 gas pressure control system for maintaining pressure inside the filler bowl at a constant level and a liquid level control system for maintaining the liquid level inside the filler bowl at a constant level ensures accurate filling. This type of filler uses a simplified filling valve allowing for efficient washing and sanitation and the valves can be used for both carbonated and non-carbonated beverages, so that replacement of valves is not required when changing from one product type to another. Gentle handling reduces container instability during feeding and foaming of product during filling. This also reduces noise and assures smooth feeding even at high rates of speed. Change parts can be replaced by one-touch operation, simplifying size change and reducing changeover times.

Options include:

  • S/CIP System
  • CIP adapter automatic connecting system
  • Automatic filler bowl elevating device
  • FBH system
  • Machine exterior automatic washing unit
  • Non-carbonated beverage preparation system for dual-purpose
  • Shift gas recovery system

CIP System

The CIP system automatically cleans the inside of the filler bowl and filling valves after each run or when there is a size change. If a cleaning/sterilizing tank or steam tube is connected to this system, detergent cleaning or high temperature sterilization can be achieved.

Compact Filler-Capper

The compact filling and capping machine gives new meaning to versatility. With its modular design, and compact footprint, this system can be customized to fill a large variety of products into a wide range of containers - both plastic and glass - and apply many different caps/closures.

Reliable, efficient and simple to operate, the SHC Compact Filler/Capper is designed for easy changeover. Various product parameters can be pre-programmed into the touch screen controller.

Design the system that meets your needs! Configure it with an air cleaner, bead inserter, or set it up to handle pucks. Use two filling systems in tandem with CIP capability for quick product changes. Equip the filler/capper with two capping stations for a variety of closures, like screw caps, pump caps with stems, PP caps, snap and plug caps. Add an automatic detect/reject system. And for safety, an enclosure with interlocks is standard!

The options are virtually endless. It is the system that grows with you, adapting to your changing needs with performance you can trust.

Capper/Capping Systems

There are several types of capping systems develop uniquely by Shibuya engineers:

Mechanical Screw Capper Model NSC

Designed to tighten aluminum or plastic screw caps to a predetermined torque using a magnetic clutch and featuring a design that easily handles plastic or glass bottles, or bottle-cans. A wide range of cap materials can be used from shallow to deep caps, using the same setup or with minor changeover adjustments. The cap closing torque can be easily changed over by adjusting the relative position of magnets. A mechanical clutch uses adjustable spring pressure and an air clutch uses adjustable air pressure to apply the closing torque force.

Servo Screw Capper System

The servo capper applies screw caps to containers with constant torque using a computer controlled servo motor mounted on each capping head. This system requires capping torque set by numerical input into control panel (easy to change when switching caps or containers). The servo drive monitors parameters of capping head - making it easy to detect misaligned caps, abnormal torquing, etc. The design allows for easy integration with other equipment. There are 6 heads and has a capacity of 150 bottles per minute maximum.
